Indoor Air Quality

INDOOR AIR QUALITY TEST

The Air Advice Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) monitor set up by our Indoor Comfort Specialist uncovers IAQ problems in your home. This compact, multi-sensor monitor continually measures temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, vocs, and airborne particles in one minute cycles.

The air advice monitor is quiet, durable, and safe to use in any home, including a home with children and pets. It requires no new wiring or computer connection.

Once the test is complete, the Indoor Comfort Specialist will pick up the monitor and print out your personalized IAQ report generated from the data the monitor collected. The report will then be explained to you in detail. If any recommendations are made, you will be able to consider them with total confidence.

CONCERNED ABOUT THE AIR YOU BREATHE?

Considering that you spend about 70% of your time indoors, breathing in 18,000 liters of air each day, which may be 20-70 times more polluted than outdoor air… you should be concerned.

Some of these airborne contaminants are uninvited like pollen, mold, fungi, bacteria, viruses, dust, and mites. While others are self-contributed like tobacco, wood or cooking smoke, pet dander, insecticides, and toxins emitted from personal care products or household cleaners.

These contaminants adversely affect indoor air quality, which in turn affects your health and comfort. Whether the effects are mild or severe, short or long-term, they can cause symptoms like itchy, watery eyes, sore throat, sneezing, runny nose, headache, fatigue, tightness of chest, shortness of breath, and even epidemics like the common cold or the flu. And if you are not immediately affected, the smallest pollutants are inhaled and retained deep in the lungs, which may result in respiratory and other health problems after years of repeated exposure.

AIR DUCT CLEANING

Living and working in the Houston area we are exposed to constant heat, humidity, mold spores, pollen, chemicals, and particulate matter in the air we breathe. We spend over 70% of our time indoors. One of the major ways to deal with indoor air quality issues is to clean the interior of your air conditioning ductwork.

Duct Cleaning involves cleaning the various heating and cooling system components of forced air systems. These components include the supply and return air ducts, registers, grills, and diffusers. If the decision is made to have the system environmentally cleaned, it is important that Indoor Comfort Specialists, Inc. also cleans all of the components so unclean parts will not re-contaminate the system again.

BENEFITS OF CLEANING A SYSTEM CAN INCLUDE:

A cleaner healthier environment
A more efficiently running system
Lower utility bills
Fewer breakdowns and repairs
GERMICIDAL ULTRA VIOLET LIGHTS:

How it works – Healthy Climate Germicidal Lights are effective weapons against contaminants in the HVAC system, like mold and bacteria. They use intense rays of ultra violet light to control and kill contaminants in the air and on surfaces. When the UV light comes in contact with a contaminant, it penetrates the cell and over time, damages the cell’s DNA. This prevents the microorganisms from growing and multiplying, which will eventually cause them to die.
